Headphone repair for beginners

I've had two pairs of headphones lying on my desk awaiting repair for ages and finally got around to doing something about them a few days ago. From the ashes of a pair of Koss KSC-75s that needed a new cable and some Sennheiser PX100s that needed a new jack was born this:

I originally got the idea from this thread on Head-Fi where it's apparently a popular mod. The main reason I went for it is because it replaces the Koss earclips (which were just a bit too open to the outside) with a proper headphone band. I followed a similar procedure to one used in another Head-Fi thread, though rather than drilling & screwing the 'ball' to the headphones I used superglue.
